Occasionally, the reverberation made for a nice effect: Mr. Ragin’s first cries of “Euridice,” for example, resounded wonderfully. More frequently, though, the resonance clouded the singers’ diction. One had the impression that Mr. Ragin, Miss Mitchell and Miss Leeds all have attractive, well-regulated voices and that they sang their roles powerfully.
